In this IIL aviation presentation, hosted by Miller Insurance, Jennifer Chan discusses the recent rise in discrimination and assault claims faced by airports in the UK, using real life cases as examples. Her presentation explores the difficulties faced by airports and insurers when defending such claims as well as potential competing employment law complications which could arise.

As airports continue to expand and passenger numbers increase year on year, security processes are under greater strain and scrutiny than ever before. There has been a recent emerging trend of claims raised against airport security, centred around allegations of discrimination, assault and tortious interference with goods.

This presentation delves into the challenges faced by airports in defending such claims and the financial impact such claims could have on insurers. explores potential organisational changes and informed decision-making that may help mitigate such claims.
