Injury claims arising from incidents involving pets

In this IIL casualty webinar, Richard Rowe and Maria Mingoia consider third-party liability in claims involving pets and insurance considerations when dealing with accidents involving pets.
Claims arising from accidents involving domestic pets is a niche area. Claims can arise from many different circumstances, ranging from injuries to people, injuries to other domestic pets or other animals (such as livestock) or damage to property, either caused by the pet in the home or to vehicles on the road. The law relating to such claims is heavily influenced by the Animals Act 1971 and this session considers the obligations on Claimants in proving liability both under the Act and in negligence, as well as the defences available to policyholders.
This webinar provides a case study of a recent High Court decision as an example of these considerations and reviews common insurance considerations when dealing with these claims.

A better understanding of the third-party liability in claims involving pets
-
