Hands – Diversity And Inclusion

THIS WEBINAR HAS BEEN POSTPONED

In this IIL inclusion and diversity webinar, the speakers give an overview of the insurance and financial services markets' progress in furthering disability inclusion. Edward Grant provides an update on his role as Disability Ambassador and explores how the market can work more collaboratively to continue pushing for an equitable environment. Sam Westaway and Sam Daruvala introduce iDAWN, the insurance market's Disability and Wellbeing Network.

The insurance market has made significant progress in advancing inclusion and diversity over recent years, creating a more diverse and equitable industry that attracts and retains the best people. One of the organisations driving change for disabled people and championing open and honest conversations around disability, neurodiversity and mental health, is iDAWN. Co-chaired by Sam Westaway and Sam Daruvala. iDAWN is looking to create a network that provides support for disabled colleagues, but that also supports employers in progressing their knowledge and understanding of disability and mental health, as well as their internal policies and ERGs.

Learning objectives:

  • Understand the current challenges of I&D within the market (disclosure rates, etc.)

  • Provide an overview of the work Edward and iDAWN and others currently do

  • Call for support from the market to keep progressing inclusion and work more collaboratively as a profession
