Recognising Coercive Control - An essential guide for Young Professionals

In association with SCOR
The IIL YMC is thrilled to present a vital session for all young professionals – helping them to recognise and respond to ‘red flag’ behaviour in both personal and professional relationships.
Navigating early adulthood can be tricky. Whether you’re embarking on one of your first serious relationships, making decisions such as whether to move in with a partner, or facing power imbalances and toxic management styles in your professional life.
Often, it can be difficult to identify potential ‘red flags’ and know what to do about them, especially if it is something that you have never encountered before.
This session will equip you with the tools to spot coercive control and how to respond or provide support for others who may be feeling trapped or unable to seek help, or who may not even recognise the reality of their situation.
The session is open to all IIL/CII members, is fully accessible, and is CPD-accredited.
Learning objectives:
-
Understand definitions of coercive control
-
Identify signs of coercive control in personal life and the workplace
-
Learn how to respond and provide support
Refreshments will be available on arrival and throughout the event. Please let us know of any special requirements when you register.
Please note that this session will not be recorded, so playback will not be available to members who do not attend the live event.
