An in-person event in association with Lloyd's Lab

Join the IIL YMC at the Lloyd’s Lab for an introduction to how next-generation innovation in the insurance market is being incubated and nurtured.

The Lloyd’s Lab was established in 2018 to increase the pace of successful innovation at Lloyd’s by supporting technology-driven solutions to market challenges in a fast-track, fast-fail environment.

Innovation at the Lab is channelled through three key programmes:

  • The Accelerator
  • Futureminds Programme
  • The Product Launchpad

In this session we will dive into how the Lab came to be, the work being supported and where innovation is headed.

We will hear from Kieran Linger (Lloyd's Lab Associate) and two market professionals, Gilbert Harrap (Co-founder & CEO, InsurX) and Alek Pillay (Senior Underwriter, Kita) who went through the Accelerator programme on why innovation is so important for the insurance market.

Learning objectives:

  • How the Lloyd’s Lab fosters innovation in the insurance market through new start-ups and existing insurer solutions
  • How Lloyd’s is beginning to address historic and future customer challenges in the evolving insurance landscape
  • Potential innovation-driven career paths beyond underwriting and broking within insurance

An interactive Q&A session will follow the discussion - please feel free to submit any questions in advance when you book online.

Please note, this session will not be recorded so a playback will not be available for members who do not attend the live event.
