In this IIL reinsurance webinar, Julian Enoizi explores the opportunities and challenges associated with designing and implementing effective public-private (re) insurance responses to societally catastrophic risks in the UK.

In this session, Julian provides an overview of UK-based industry responses, working groups, and frameworks currently evolving to address pandemic, cyber, climate, and other catastrophic risks.

The presentation also covers the 28 years of building resilience to terrorism risk through public-private partnership and the broader applicability of the Pool Re model to other catastrophic risks and market failures.

Learning objectives:

  • An insight into existing public-private catastrophe reinsurance facilities in the UK
  • An understanding of the frameworks and scenarios being developed to manage catastrophic risk in the UK
  • The perspective of HM Government and private sector entities on managing catastrophic risk over the next decade
