Are we there yet? An update on reform and policy issues

Online event
Monday, 04 October 2021
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Alistair Kinley, Director of Policy & Government Affairs, BLM Law
  • Casualty

In this IIL accident webinar, Alistair Kinley covers some of the key reform issues affecting the UK liability market and the claims it faces, examining both procedural and substantive legal reforms likely to have an impact over the short and medium terms.

Even with major legislative reform to discount rates and whiplash cases having been implemented in recent years, the claims environment remains subject to the forces of change and reform. New initiatives on costs and legal processes are taking hold and the common law on damages and liability is continually evolving.

This session will touch on the principal elements likely to affect liability insurers during 2022/23.

Learning objectives:

  • Understanding the scope of motor insurance law following Brexit
  • Taking stock of fixed costs reforms
  • Examining the claims implications of e-scooter use
