Real estate underwriting and the evolving challenges of construction projects

In this IIL Real estate webinar, Neville Green speaks about some of the emerging trends within construction projects and the challenges these pose for both real estate underwriters looking after the existing structure and the property owner.
Property owners and developers are under a number of competing pressures to ensure that what they own or what they build aligns with regulatory requirements or customer expectations with regard to environmental and energy efficiency targets. Building methods and infrastructures need to incorporate new technologies, some of which are still relatively new and the long-term impacts of which are in the early stages of being understood. All of these pressures then need to be factored into the costing of either new build or refurb and in turn, the cost and or difficulty of insuring those properties.
Learning objectives:
- Introduction to a range of building methods and technologies
- Review of some of the hazards of those technologies
- View of the insurance implications thereof
