Second World War and the insurance industry: Can history really inform the future?

In this IIL webinar, Tracey Fisher and Michael Gregory provide a thought-provoking perspective on whether it is possible to take learnings from RSA’s experiences during the Second World War and apply their relevance to the challenges the industry faces today.
Through comparing the history and background of artefacts recently discovered in the RSA archive, this webinar has been designed to explore the question as to whether lessons learned can be applied today to enable the industry to be better prepared to tackle the current emerging trends and risks faced today.
Through sharing items, photographs and artefacts from the RSA archive, discover how the company planned and adapted throughout the period of conflict and what action they took to protect their staff and customers. Explore whether these lessons learned from 80 years ago can be applied to the challenges that the industry faces today as it moves through uncertain times.
Learning objectives:
- Understand more about the impact that WW2 had on RSA
- Learn how the company adapted and the lessons learned
- Understand how adopting a strategic outlook on future risks combined with lessons learned can be applied to the current challenges the industry faces
