In this IIL Cyber and Technology webinar, Aidan Flynn and Tom Allen discuss the current state of the cyber (re)insurance market with a focus on the protection gap in relation to systemic cyber exposures, touching on potential approaches to bridging that gap.

The growing frequency and severity of cyber-attacks coupled with an increased reliance on interconnected computer systems, has driven a rise in cyber losses almost universally across industries. A significant protection gap has opened. Systemic cyber risk, therefore, poses a significant threat and opportunity to the London Market.

In this webinar, leading underwriters look at the methods that carriers are currently using to model, price and manage their exposure to systemic cyber risk, and explore potential options for offering more cover to the market without taking on unacceptable levels of risk.

Learning objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of systemic cyber risk and why it is such a challenge to the London Market
  • Learn about current approaches to underwriting systemic cyber risk
  • Explore potential solutions to bridging the protection gap, whilst mitigating underwriting downside
