In this IIL educational visit, attendees can explore the Royal Courts of Justice and the Rolls Building, renowned for its jurisdiction over insurance cases.

The Royal Courts of Justice, commonly called the Law Courts, is a court building in Westminster that houses the High Court and Court of Appeal of England and Wales.

Attendees will learn all about the stunning 19th-century Gothic architecture and fascinating history of the building, filming that has taken place there (e.g. James Bond; Mission Impossible; Bridget Jones), as well as about the courts' most famous cases and the characters that appear in court. This visit also includes presentations on various areas of the building, including all the most stunning rooms which appear the same today as when Queen Victoria opened the building.

This tour will be guided by a seasoned attorney, with more than 30 years of legal expertise to ensure that the tour delves into the intricacies of insurance law.

Learning objectives:

  • An understanding of the court’s cases
  • An understanding of the court’s role in insurance law today

Attendees will be required to make their own travel arrangements to/from the Royal Courts of Justice - the nearest tube station is Temple (District Line).

Places on visits are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

This tour is very challenging for those with mobility challenges as the group moves at pace and up and down several stair cases. If you have mobility challenges and/or will require assistance during your visit please contact us in advance or provide full details when booking.
