Disability Access Symposium

In this IIL presentation in the Old Library at Lloyd’s, a panel of experts showcases the insurance sector initiatives and how you and your firm can be involved. This event brings together influential leaders who are shaping the future of accessible insurance. During Disability Access Symposium week (5th-9th October 2026), champions, charities and business leaders will be amplifying initiatives, solutions and resources accelerating accessibility for disabled people.

In this presentation, Caroline Barr shares how signposting brokers through the Find Insurance Service is enabling disabled customers to access their insurance. Vanessa Riboloni and Jan Levy share the latest Outside In research on the sector with insurance companies, focusing on disability. As well as recently commissioned CII Member research on disability access. Kathryn Stringer shows how firms can unlock the potential of neurodiverse talent and build fairer, more inclusive pathways into financial services. Matthew Hill outlines how the CII is supporting greater access to the profession through the pathway’s initiatives. Eddie Grant highlights the sector’s progress and the cultural shifts needed to build confidence for disabled consumers.

Join us to explore what works, what’s next, and how the sector can accelerate accessibility for disabled people. The Disability Access Symposium 2026 will be a combination of virtual and in-person events. A collaboration of champions, charities and business leaders amplifying initiatives, solutions and resources accelerating accessibility for disabled people.

Learning objectives:  

• Strengthen your firm’s disability access strategy by understanding how sector initiatives, such as BIBA’s Find Insurance Service and new CII research, are improving access, trust and outcomes for disabled customers

• Apply evidence-based insights to your organisation’s inclusion plans through learning from the latest Outside In research, CII member findings, and real customer experiences shared by leaders shaping accessible insurance

• Enhance your talent and culture approach by exploring practical ways to support neurodiverse professionals, build fairer pathways into financial services, and embed behaviours that increase confidence among disabled consumers

Registration & Security

CPD events are open to CII and PFS members
Registration closes at 12pm two working days before the event date
For events held in The Old Library, Lloyd's pass holders may also attend and do not need to register
Original Photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Work ID with company logo and full name) is required to gain entry to all venues

Conditions:

• Email confirmations and original photo ID must be produced to security staff at the lecture venue
• Attendance confirmations are non-transferable to any other person or lecture
• All venues have limited capacity and registration and/or a Lloyd's pass does not guarantee admission
