In this IIL marine & energy lecture Stephen Gordon provided an overview of the international shipping markets, including key supply and demand trends, rates and prices, shipbuilding and shipowning activity.
In his presentation Stephen covered the following six topics; Market cycle, Demand - seaborne trade, Supply - world shipping fleet, Shipbuilding, Ownership, and Environment and technology and concluded with a summary.
By the end of this lecture members would have gained an insight into:
- Shipping market conditions
- Shipping supply and demand trends
Speakers Bio:
Stephen joined Clarksons Research in 1999 as a shipbuilding analyst after graduating from Oxford University. Following periods running the consultancy and valuation team, Stephen was appointed Managing Director of Clarksons Research in 2012.
