Accelerated learning & memory techniques

The Old Library, Lloyd's
Tuesday, 10 May 2022
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Robert Murray ACII, Partner, Head of Actuarial, BDO LLP
  • Revision

In this IIL revision presentation, Rob Murray outlines with practical examples a range of different memory techniques to assist students when preparing for exams or wider business or personal situations.

During the presentation, Rob explains that learning and retaining large amounts of information do not require natural ability and that the techniques he covers can make a significant difference.

In his presentation, Rob makes it clear that the techniques require practice, preparation and adaption, as essentially these techniques concentrate on an individual identifying for themselves which memory principles work best for them and then building a pattern of studying around that.

Learning objectives:

  • An introduction to several memory principles and accelerated learning techniques
  • Practical illustrations of these techniques
  • An introduction to effective yet non-standard approaches to memory and learning which can be applied to formal, informal study, and wider business or personal situations

Chair: Michael Ehioze-Ediae, Senior Claims Underwriter, Hiscox
