New IIL President for 2025-26 announced

Richard Dudley ACII, Chartered Insurance Broker, Group Chief Broking Officer, BMS Group, took office as the new President of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL) for 2025-26 at the AGM on Monday, 29 September.

The Insurance Institute of London announces the election of Richard Dudley ACII, Chartered Insurer, as its new President for 2025-26.

Richard joined BMS in December 2024 with over 30 years of experience focused on both wholesale specialty insurance and the treaty reinsurance markets. Before joining BMS, Richard spent much of his career at Benfield Group and Aon in various leadership roles, including Head of Aon Re’s UK & Ireland and Benelux businesses and as CEO of the Aon Global Broking Centre. He started his career on the Willis graduate scheme. Richard is also a member of the Council of Lloyd’s.

Richard has an MA in Philosophy & Politics from Oxford University. He has served as Deputy President Designate of the Insurance Institute of London since October 2024.

Commenting on his election, Richard said, "I am delighted to be elected President of the Insurance Institute of London. I am looking forward to making the most of this opportunity to serve the members, employees and other stakeholders of the Institute in this role. I would like to thank the Institute’s members for electing me and thank Lucy Clarke for her excellent leadership over the past year."
