Insurance Institute of London announces new Chair of Young Members’ Committee
The Insurance Institute of London (IIL) is pleased to announce that Valtter Lehtonen has been appointed as the Chair of its Young Members’ Committee (YMC).
Valtter brings over seven years of experience in the insurance industry, having built a varied career across operations, strategy, and sales. He currently works at Marsh, specialising in business development in the Retail, Manufacturing and Technology sectors. His exposure to different areas of the industry has equipped him with a strong insurance network and he wants to help other young professionals in London do the same.
Valtter is half Finnish, half Brazilian, and grew up in China. He speaks five languages and loves meeting people from different backgrounds. He has been on the IIL YMC for three years now and has been Deputy Chair for the last two years.
Speaking about his appointment, Valtter said:
"I’m thrilled to be taking on the role of Chair. The Young Members’ Committee brings incredible energy, ideas, and value to the London insurance market, and I’m passionate about ensuring our work continues to connect and support the future generation of the insurance industry. And doing this in London – the heart of the global insurance industry – makes it even more exciting. There’s nowhere else in the world where young professionals have such an opportunity to help shape the future of our market."
The IIL extends its warm congratulations to Valtter and looks forward to supporting him as he leads the committee into another successful year.
