Understanding the implications of the Ukraine crisis

Online event
Tuesday, 13 June 2023
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm (UK time)
    • Chris Glenny, Client Leader, Managing Director, Strategy & Technology Group, Aon
    • Rebekah Clement, Sustainability Director, Lloyd’s
    • Vishal Mehta, Senior Strategy Associate, Aon
  • Reinsurance

In this IIL reinsurance webinar, Chris Glenny, Rebekah Clement and Vishal Mehta discuss the work carried out in the two Lloyd’s Futureset Ukraine reports. These reports focused on the medium to long-term consequences of the Ukraine crisis for clients and the implications for the (Re)Insurance industry.

Aon and Lloyd’s collaborated on the Lloyd’s Futureset Ukraine reports. In the first report, the teams examined the medium to long-term consequences of the Ukraine crisis on clients. The second report built on these findings, looking to explore the implications for the (Re)Insurance market and how it might look to respond.

In this session, the speakers talk through the key market challenges the reports focused on, looking to bring some of these themes up to date: Cyber, supply chain, food security, climate transition, energy security, ESG and public sentiment. They examine how the risk landscape has changed as a result of the war, what companies need to consider as a result and the role of the insurance industry through this period of considerable uncertainty.

Learning objectives:

  • How has the conflict developed over the last 9 months?
  • How is it impacting the Insurance market?
  • What role can the Insurance industry play?
