In this IIL aviation webinar Hugo Parsons, Andy James and Will Jones talk about what ESG is, what it means for the aviation industry and the role insurance can play in mitigating risks and creating opportunities.

ESG is a topic that is rapidly growing and grabbing stakeholders’ attention. The way in which organisations respond to this new topic is of particular importance due to the risks it poses and the opportunities it can create. This is especially the case within the aviation industry which regularly comes under scrutiny for its carbon intensive operations. As a result of this, there are many challenges that the aviation industry faces with regards to ESG and not effectively responding to these could be particularly damaging. However, being on the front foot also present a range of opportunities to get ahead of peers and become an industry leader. A huge factor in this is the role insurance can play to facilitate the aviation’s industry’s transition to a more sustainable future by enabling risk transfer and financing innovation.
