YMC Charity Quiz Night 2023

120 people across 20 teams joined us at Steam Bar & Restaurant to battle it out for the title of 'IIL YMC Charity Quiz Champion 2023' and raise funds for Barking Foodbank.

Congratulations to the winning team, 'Bind Your Own Business' from Gen Re!

A total of £2,510 was raised from the event; ticket proceeds and a well-supported raffle contributed to this incredible amount.

Obi Onyeabor, Director of Barking Foodbank, commented:
"Many thanks to all who contributed towards the incredible total of £2,510 at last week’s YMC Quiz.

For the first time, demand is outstripping supply for support across food banks in the Trussell Trust network and this donation will enable us to purchase essential supplies to help families in need across the three sites at Barking Foodbank. THANK YOU."

Barking Foodbank was set up by the Hope Family Trust and The Trussell Trust in February 2012 to help tackle hunger in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. Nicci Greenacre, IIL COO, began volunteering at her local site in Chadwell Heath in March 2020 and the IIL has been partnering with the Foodbank later that year.

Foodbanks are able to operate thanks to the support and generosity of the public and every donation makes a real difference to someone in crisis.

The proceeds from this event (after event costs) will be donated to Barking Foodbank (Registered Charity Number 1157921).
