In this IIL webinar, Julian Enoizi talked about the opportunities and challenges associated with designing and implementing effective public-private (re)insurance responses to societally catastrophic risks in the UK.

Julian discussed the 27 years of building resilience to terrorism risk through public-private partnership, the broader applicability of the Pool Re model to other catastrophic risks and market failures. The Covid-19 crisis and potential industry solutions were also covered in his presentation.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • Existing public-private catastrophe reinsurance facilities in the UK
  • The repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis for the (re)insurance industry, and potential responses
  • The role of public-private risk financing in the 2020s
