The Asia opportunity: insights for the London Market

Asia is the fastest growing and most dynamic region in the world. Population and economic growth combined mean that the Asia region will be the most populous and the wealthiest area soon.

At the same time, the region is very diverse, ranging from very mature markets such as Japan, the economic powerhouses of India and China through to a collection of smaller, but fast-growing markets in Southeast Asia, as well as many more.

The 'insurance opportunity' in Asia is significant, with low penetration prevalent in many markets, but with economic growth suggesting that the potential is high. At the same time, natural catastrophe risk and ageing population coupled with other geopolitical dynamics bring challenges that need to be considered and overcome.
