1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • John E Minton, CEO, The Minton, Treharne and Davies Group
  • Marine & Energy

In this IIL marine and energy webinar, John Minton explains the historical claim issues that we have faced as a market and the problems we face today with the changing world. The overall learning objective is to foster an understanding of how oil is shipped, what can go wrong and how we, as a market, can manage the insurance exposure.

Oil is shipped around the world. Cargo insurance coverage is given by the markets on an insurance and reinsurance basis. Coverage can be limited or widened to full guaranteed outturn basis.

This webinar informs underwriters and brokers of what has gone wrong in the past, where lessons can be learnt and help in developing coverage going forward. New issues now arising will also be addressed.

Learning objectives:

  • Understanding the issues of the past as regards oil insurance and claims, to assist in avoidance of repeating them
  • Understanding the changes that have occurred and how oil claims arise today
  • Anticipate changes that may arise in the future
