Understanding body language
In this IIL presentation, Samantha Ridgewell helps you understand your body language, what affects it, how others might perceive it and how to use your body language in high-stakes situations and when presenting to support your messages and give them more impact.
We know that our words alone are often only part of the equation when we are communicating. Our tone and our body language play a huge part in how people understand our messages and often, what our bodies are saying when we aren’t the one speaking can have a real impact on outcomes in our conversations and relationships.
In critical situations, making subtle, conscious changes to how we sit, stand, use our hands, manage eye contact and use our voice can add up to big differences in outcomes and perceptions.
Learning objectives:
- Communicating with interest and enthusiasm
- Portraying confidence (even when you aren’t feeling confident!)
