In this IIL reinsurance lecture delivered by Mike Reynolds, Global CEO, JLT Re, discussed the 1 January global reinsurance renewal., its drivers, and the state of the global reinsurance sector.

In his presentation, Mike discussed the outcome of the renewal and its implications for the (re)insurance sector will be discussed in the context of pricing, capacity, and profitability. Major trends such as reserving, emerging risk, and macroeconomic factors, as well as potential future sector opportunities, were examined. To illustrate these trends, Mike referred to JLT Re's refreshed sector analysis as at year-end and this was exhibited in his presentation. The presentation previewed the release of JLT Re's Renewal Retrospective Viewpoint, a copy of which is available with the CPD podcast.

By the end of this lecture members would have gained an insight into:

  • The current state of the reinsurance market following renewals
  • The ongoing trends which will affect the insurance and reinsurance markets in the near future
  • Future opportunities in the sector for insurers, reinsurers and brokers

Speakers Bio:
Mike joined JLT as Group Finance Director in November 2012 and a member of the Plc Board and Group Executive Committee. In September 2014 he was appointed as Global CEO of JLT Re. Mike has worked in a number of senior finance roles in the insurance industry such as ACE European Group Ltd and Aon Benfield.

CPD events are open to CII and PFS members
Registration closes at 12pm two working days before the event date
For events held in The Old Library, Lloyd's pass holders may also attend and do not need to register
Original Photo ID (Driving Licence, Passport, Work ID with company logo and full name) is required to gain entry to all venues

  • Attendance confirmations are non-transferable to any other person or lecture
