  • CPD visit

On this Insurance Institute of London 75 minute educational visit, attendees obtained an "inside view" of IFED, the specialist police unit established in 2012 to investigate serious, organised and opportunistic insurance fraud.

This visit was a presentation by the IFED. This covered an introduction to the City of London Police and IFED, how referrals are received and then acted on, the key priority areas, working with insurers, investigations and what determines whether an investigation leads to proceeding to court and the probability of a prosecution. The presentation included examples and brief case studies.

The presentation included a Q&A session. Refreshments were provided.

During this visit members will have gained an insight into:

  • The role of IFED
  • How IFED operates
  • Key Priority Areas and referrals
  • IFED investigations and prosecutions
