Time to start your pathway to CII Qualifications

Building on our previous successes with fast-track courses, we are thrilled to announce the launch of the 2025 programme in collaboration with the WCI, offering the following awards:

  • Certificate in Insurance
  • Diploma in Insurance

We understand that embarking on the journey to CII qualification can be intimidating, especially at the early stages of your insurance career. Therefore, in partnership with the collective Scottish Chartered Insurance Institutes and WCI, are committed to supporting you on this pathway.

This programme offers members the opportunity to benefit from a FREE invaluable study course specifically designed to assist students in achieving qualifications through structured group learning.

Applications are now open to all members of the following institutes:

  • Edinburgh
  • Inverness Highlands and Islands
  • Aberdeen
  • Perth and Dundee

The course Overview:

Certificate of Insurance:

The course will deliver on 3 subjects:

IF1 Insurance, Legal and Regulatory

IF4 Insurance Claims Handling Process

IF3 Insurance Underwriting Process

By enrolling in this course, you will participate in 6 group training sessions, which will provide you with additional support, helping you to reduce the amount of study time needed to master the coursework, whilst collaborating with peers on the same subjects, and at the end achieving your CII qualification.

When applying for the course it is crucial that you prioritise the learning days, therefore we confirm the dates of the sessions as follows:

  • IF1 day one - Friday 10th October
  • IF1 day two - Thursday 13th November
  • IF4 day one - Friday 5th December
  • IF4 day two - Monday 5th January
  • IF3 day one - Tuesday 24th February
  • IF3 day two - Monday 30th March

Entry criteria...

  • You must be a CII member.
  • You must work within the specified professional area.
  • Your application should be endorsed by your line manager or employer.
  • You (or your employer) will be responsible for covering coursework entry fees, study materials, travel costs, and any additional expenses incurred.
  • You must be able to attend all proposed dates unless previously agreed.

Please note:

As the tuition costs are fully funded, a serious commitment is required upon joining. You will be expected to attend all workshops, and the institute reserves the right to recover costs for non-attendance.

Enrolling is straightforward; simply ensure you meet the entry criteria and then complete the application form provided below.

Diploma in Insurance:

The Course will focus on the following 4 subjects:

  • M93 Commercial Property and Business Interruption
  • M85 Claims Practice
  • M05 Law
  • M92 business and Finance

By enrolling in this course, you will participate in 16 group training sessions, which will provide you with additional support, helping you to reduce the amount of study time needed to master the coursework, whilst collaborating with peers on the same subjects, and at the end achieving your CII qualification.
