PFS Technical - Investment Bonds with Practical Financial Exams
The PFS North Scotland Committee is pleased to welcome Michaela Pashley from Practical Financial Exams back to deliver three Technical CPD sessions on Investment Bonds, Top Slicing Relief and Personal and Business Protection.
Session Overview
The first of these sessions will look at Investment Bonds, their uses and taxation.
Learning objectives - by the end of this talk you will gain an overview of:-
- Explain the features, benefits, and disadvantages of investment bonds, including their legal structure, segmentation, insurable interest, and taxation.
- Evaluate the suitability of investment bonds for retail financial planning clients, including reasons why and disadvantages that might be present in a suitability report.
- Explain the main life office trusts designed for use with investment bonds, including gift trusts, loan trusts, and discounted gift trusts.
About the Speaker - Michaela Pashley
Michaela is a trainer and financial adviser.
In 2020, she founded PFE, which provides the only formal soft skills qualification in UK financial services, and a Netflix-style streaming service for original, structured CPD.
In 2023, she founded Roseum Financial Planning, a financial advice business which is part of the Quilter Network.
She also works with the team at Pilot Financial Systems as Head of Regulatory Compliance for their revolutionary new back-office software.
