The Aberdeen Institute of Insurance and Financial Planning are delighted to have a breakfast session with Fiona Clarke of Burness Paull Solicitors, Kirsty Anderson of Quilter and David Cunningham of Royal London to discuss IHT planning from a solcitors point of view and all the considerations you may need to think of with clients now rules have changed. This session will look at the recent draft legislation on bringing pensions into the IHT landscape. But more importantly, we’ll delve into the cracks that are emerging in our core wrappers. The approach we’ve always taken and how we accumulate wealth for clients before planning a decumulation strategy will be taxed across all fronts if not revisited. Then a look at how insurance should be written to be an effective tool for Inhertance Tax planning, including products available to protect IHT liabilities, gifting and the use of protection and RYSAFFE planning when using WOL policies and discretionary trusts.
