Event Overview

To be aware of the main risks surrounding electric vehicles, particularly including the severity of fires involving them. A high level summary of general issues facing EV's at present. This will give delegates an appreciation that it is a different way of thinking about travel and that there are other factors to consider, especially for Underwriters when dealing with a large amount of energy stored in a metal box.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • be aware of the practicalities of EV usage, charging and issues arising on insurer surveys. Includes solar and battery storage systems issues.
  • understand peculiarities of driving an EV. All that power!
  • be aware of the potential future of “electric” vehicles.

Speaker Bio

Simon Cutmore. Director of Risk Management

Simon Cutmore previous Director of Risk Management Division at Verlingue UK. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Insurance Practitioner, a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, a Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner and a Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management

Simon has worked in risk management for nearly twenty years including devising one of the first trend analysis tools for motor fleets over twenty years ago and still in use today. He previously specialised in the management of complex insurance claims and now regularly delivers seminars/webinars on everything from toolbox talks direct to fleet drivers to returning to work following COVID and claims defensibility on employers and public liability claims as well as motor. Simon is also often to be seen at client/insurer surveys, working with clients and insurers to achieve a mutually beneficial outcome across a variety of areas including health and safety and property loss control.
