About Us

The Guildford CII Young Professionals (YP) group is aimed at members under 35. We are here to help you develop your professional and social networks with like-minded individuals from the local region. It’s also perfect for helping you find your feet if you are new to the industry, or the area in general. We are a friendly group of professionals from a range of sectors in the insurance and personal finance industries so keep an eye out for our events, which will allow you to meet and network with like-minded peers from a variety of specialisms.

We run CPD and networking/social events throughout the year, tailored to meet the needs of young professionals and we’d love for you to come along. We announce all events and webinars through emails, our Linked-In Group and on our website, so make sure that you have your data protection preferences set to receive electronic communications from your local institute. You might also want to check that you have your local institute set to Guildford, especially if you have joined us from another region.

Lastly, member feedback that we receive after each event is very important to us and is reviewed and suggestions are implemented wherever possible. If you have any topics you would like to see run in the future or have any general feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me via ashleym@basilfry.co.uk

We look forward to seeing you an event soon.

Young Leaders Programme

In 2019 we launched our Young Leaders Programme which aimed to bring together young professionals from across the industry; the programme consisted of five workshops over the year as well as a group project and coursework. It aims to help young professionals in both smaller and larger companies with a desire to progress, to build a network across the industry and develop key leadership skills.

Further to the success of the inaugural programme, we are planning on organising another programme beginning in 2022, dependant on the loosening of Covid restrictions to allow a face-to-face programme to be delivered, so keep an eye out for emails nearer the time with details regarding the programme content and application process.

Young Professional of the Year

Every year we award a Guildford CII/PFS member that has made great strides in their career through outstanding personal and professional development. The winner receives a prize presented at the Annual Dinner and will become an integral part of the Young Professionals Committee in Guildford. Please look out for emails to announce when nominations are open.
