Delivering professional and memorable presentations is a vital skill in the Insurance Industry and profession. Whether to a large audience, a team meeting or a small group of people, being able to present with confidence and authority makes a huge difference to successfully getting the message across.

Talking in public can be daunting prospect, however with robust preparation and impactful delivery methods, a good presentation becomes a critical factor in achieving both individual’s and company’s objectives.

Learning Objectives

This highly participatory half day workshop is designed to help delegates who are new to or have limited experience in giving presentations by:-

  • Understanding the reasons for and scope of presentations.
  • Examining audience needs.
  • Understanding how to structure an effective presentation
  • Considering the use of props and other equipment to help the presentation
  • Learning and practising impactful Presenting skills
  • Developing techniques for answering audience questions confidently

About the Trainer

Richard Smith FCII, Chartered Insurer. Richard worked for Zurich Insurance for 31 years until December 2018 and since then has been working as a freelance trainer, providing programmes in order to help develop and enhance talent and skills in the Insurance and wider business sectors.

During his time with Zurich, he held many senior leadership and market management roles in the UK Commercial business including Head of Region for Bristol and South West; Head of Region for Manchester and North West; Learning and Development Manager, and latterly the Global Head of the Commercial Insurance Underwriting Academy.

A lifelong supporter of developing talent in the Insurance profession and Industry, Richard has a strong track record of helping people learn, build their knowledge and deploy that learning wisely and with enthusiasm and confidence.
