Marine and Energy Market overview

Online event
Friday, 27 November 2020
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Dominick Hoare, Group Chief Underwriting Officer, Munich Re Syndicate Limited
  • Marine & Energy

This was the first in a series of joint webinars between the Insurance Institute of London and Munich Re Syndicate aimed at improving members understanding of developments in the marine and energy market in today’s insurance world. In this session, Dominick Hoare charted the progression of the marine and energy market over the last 18 months since his last IIL presentation on the ‘Ten Golden Rules for Successful Marine Underwriting’, and focussed specifically on what has changed, what has been successful, what has failed, and what still needs to be achieved.

In his presentation, Dominick covered the performance of the marine and energy market (the ‘market’) over recent years, the impact on the market of the remediation work initiated by Lloyd’s, the impact on the market of the ‘Future at Lloyd’s’ strategy, opportunities and problems ahead, Covid-19 and the global recession with reference to its impact on the market, and lessons learned.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • What the market has achieved since early 2019
  • How the market made these achievements
  • What still needs to be achieved

Due to the interactivity of the event, places are limited (250 places) and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

This webinar will be hosted on MS Teams. Please familiarise yourself with their T&Cs and Privacy Statement.
