WEBINAR: COVID-19 Claims Go Back to the Supreme Court: Where Are We Now and What's Next?
PLEASE NOTE , PLYMOUTH & CORNWALL INSURANCE INSTITUTE & PFS MEMBERS HAVE PRIORITY IN BOOKING
Octobers technical CPD looks at the continuing legal landscape associated with COVID-19 business interruption claims as disputes return to court once again.
The legal landscape for COVID-19 business interruption claims continues to evolve, with the UK Supreme Court set to weigh in once again. This one-hour webinar, will provide a clear and practical update on the latest litigation, including the much-anticipated “furlough windfall” issue and what these developments mean for insurers, brokers, and policyholders.
An interesting update on litigation that has the potential to affect hundreds (or more) closed and open claims across a wide area of the market, no doubt causing a knock on for other lines of business. Whilst this is aimed primarily at our CII members given the wider implications for the financial sector, and UK as a whole we would also encourage PFS members to consider this webinar.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
➢identify the current state of COVID-19 insurance litigation and the issues now before the UK Supreme Court.
➢understand the potential implications of forthcoming judgments for claims handling and policy interpretation.
➢implement a strategy to adapt claims, compliance, and risk management practices in light of emerging case law.
