President's Message

- president@thenii.org.uk
It is a privilege to be elected as the President of the Nottingham Insurance Institute for the next 12 months.
My thanks go to our outgoing President, Andrew Fennell for his hard work over the past 24 months. I look forward to working with Liz Wesson as our new Deputy President to provide continuity for our Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and Personal Finance Society members in Nottingham.
Council members are all volunteers who give up their time to take on various roles and arrange educational and social events throughout the year and I thank them for all their hard work, support and guidance. If you are interested in joining Council, please email me at President@thenii.org.uk
I have been a CII member for too many years to mention and joined Council in 2017 when the then President asked if I would consider being their Dinner Secretary. Since fulfilling that role, I have taken on various roles that have provided me with knowledge amongst other things that enable me to take on the role of President. Not everything will be easy, and some things are outside of my comfort zone, but I am up for the challenge.
During the next 12 months, I intend to arrange a variety of educational, social and charitable events that will bring us together as a local industry. An industry I have been part of for 30 plus years and proud to be a part of. Work has already started with dates being secured for InsurED 2025 and the Annual Dinner for 2026. Please keep an eye out on the website for further updates.
We always welcome any new ideas for webinars, events whether it be technical or soft skills.
My chosen charity is Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, who receive no Government support or NHS funding for their daily missions. Their highly skilled doctors, paramedics and pilots give critically ill and injured people their very best chance of survival.
