Annual Dinner

On behalf of our local Insurance Institute President, Alexis Goater, I would be delighted if you would be able to attend this year’s Annual Dinner at The Duke of Richmond Hotel on Friday 12 October 2018. This is a black tie event.

The evening will commence with welcome drinks served from 6.30pm in the Residents Lounge, with guests being seated for dinner at 7.30pm. Following the pre-dinner speeches and dinner, this year’s entertainment is Tamar Broadbent. Tamar is a comedian, singer, actor and award- winning songwriter, whose song “Patrick” was featured on BBC Radio 4s Fresh from the Fringe, a showcase of the best new comedy acts from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Now an international act, her new show Brave New Girl had a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2015 “talented, bright and funny”.

The entertainment will continue with music being provided by the War Poets, a well-established Guernsey band playing a mixture of laid back classics and originals, continuing into the evening with a late licence. www.facebook.com/WarPoetsGsy

The Institute’s Annual Dinner celebrates academic achievement of our members in their professional studies while seeking also to raise funds for the President’s nominated local charity which, this year, is Cardiac action group. During the evening a raffle will be held for the Insurance Charities and to raise funds for the cardiac action group in aim to purchase a defibrillator for the Island.

We are also focusing on the fun side of the Institute and its members, we hope that you will all put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the evening. There will also be a Photo Booth which will be located in the downstairs bar throughout the evening to capture those fun moments.

We encourage those younger and newest members of the Institute to attend to get a chance to meet your colleagues in other areas of the industry.

Demand for tickets is expected so in anticipation we have re-arranged the dining room to accommodate more tables. The ticket price is £50 per person, exclusive of wine.

A table comprises of 10 to 12 seats. Please note that it is usual for groups of less than 10 people to be placed on a mixed table; however prior agreement will be obtained from all parties. To book your table please complete the Booking form.

Payment can be made either by cheque or bank transfer to the Insurance Institute of Guernsey.

Wine must be pre-ordered direct from the hotel and I attach the wine list pre-order form, which must be returned to the Duke of Richmond Hotel by 28 September 2018.

The event is self-funded therefore any sponsorship/donations from your company would be greatly appreciated. I will be contacting the various companies by phone to discuss these opportunities.
