“AI Right, Very Good” - Cutting Through the Hype and the Jargon
The PDG are delighted to welcome back Martyn Wallace, Chief Digital Officer – Digital Office for Scottish Local Government to speak to us on:
“AI Right, Very Good” - Cutting Through the Hype and the Jargon
It’s been about 18 months since Martyn last spoke with us about AI shaking up the world of work. Since then, things have moved fast with some of it has the labelled cliché of being game changing, some of it just noise. Martyn is back to give a no nonsense update on what’s happening with AI in Scotland, Society, the workplace, the legal, financial, and insurance sectors, and what it means for you, your teams, and your customers.
In 30–45 minutes, Martyn will cover:
- What’s genuinely new in AI what matters, what doesn’t, and what’s just marketing spin.
- Where the real opportunities are for making organisations more efficient, innovative, and resilient.
- The risks and challenges you need to have on your radar, from new regulations and data privacy to the realities of AI “hallucinations” and ethics.
- The Rise of the Robots – already here, don’t panic
- Should you be worried? – “Depends”
- Practical tips for getting started, upskilling, and making sure you’re using AI safely and sensibly.
Whether you’re a CxO, senior exec, lawyer, or just starting out, you’ll leave with a clear sense of what’s worth your time and what isn’t plus some ideas you can put into action straight away.
If you want the real story on AI (and a chance to ask the awkward questions), come join the conversation.
The event with take place at Brodies’ Glasgow office (110 Queen Street, Glasgow) with arrival from 12.30 pm for a 12.45pm start. A sandwich lunch will also be provided.
