CPD Breakfast Seminar - FSCS - What do I need to know?
The FSCS's mission is to provide a compensation service for customers, which raises public confidence in the financial services industry. This is the UK's statutory fund of last resort for customers of authorised financial services firms. It is reported that the FSCS has paid a total of ~£473 million in compensation during 2018/19 alone. This is compared to ~£405million paid in compensation in the previous year.
