Public and Products Liability Insurance
Introduction
A constant feature of commercial package policies, it is easy to overlook the various risk features demonstrated by customers relating to these classes of insurance. This session is designed to provide a brief introduction (or refresher as appropriate) to these areas and to examine the various extensions to cover, why these are available and who may benefit from buying them.

Underwriters or brokers who are new to this class of business and those requiring a refresher.
Course Content
- Brief precis of policy cover.
- The “occurrence” policy trigger and those products supplied where a “claims made” policy trigger is used.
- The impact of cover being provided for “any one claim” (PL) and “in the aggregate” (Products)
- Exclusions concerning “deliberate acts” in the part of the policyholder
- Extensions to cover – Bartoline (pollution), Pure financial loss
- The impact of the changes in the personal injuries discount rate
- Overview of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and Consumer Rights Act 2015
There will be an opportunity to ask any questions arising from the content of the course at the end of the session.
