CPD Event: Bank of England Update
Ian from The Bank of England Agency for Wales to provide an update to our members on the economic outlook.
Ian will run through the Bank of England’s August Monetary Policy Report, updating attendees on the latest news on GDP growth, labour market, inflation, trade tariffs, and what that might mean for UK interest rates.

About the speaker: Ian Derrick
Ian joined the Bank of England in 2000 as Deputy Agent at the Agency for Wales, and returned to the role from a year's secondment to the economic analysis area of the Office of National Statistics in Newport in June 2015. Born and schooled in Llanelli, Ian graduated from Cardiff University in Economics in 1989, joining The Royal Bank of Scotland, working primarily in corporate banking and project finance roles in the City of London in the 1990s.
A Welsh speaker, Ian lives in Cardiff with his wife and daughters. His hobbies include running and most sports.
