Join us for an insightful panel discussion hosted by Sandra Lewin, that goes beyond inspiration and into action.
During this event, you will hear from our three panellists about the different stages of their careers.
This session will uncover the defining moments, bold decisions, and practical strategies that helped shape their journeys in insurance.
From navigating fears to building meaningful networks, and from identifying personal goals to managing up with confidence, this conversation will offer relatable insights and tangible takeaways for women at every career stage, whether you're just starting out or looking to take your next leap.

This free event is open to both members and non-members and will formally start at 6:00 pm sharp.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available from 5:30 pm onwards.
Please also note that this event is scheduled to take place in a downstairs meeting room which can only be accessed by stairs.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, attendees will be able to:

identify at least two career strategies that have helped panellists advance in the insurance industry, and reflect on how they can be applied to their own careers

describe the role of networking and stakeholder relationships in career progression, including how to build and maintain strategic connections

develop a personal action plan to communicate their career ambitions with managers, using clear language and confidence-based approaches

evaluate common fears or limiting beliefs that may hold them back and apply at least two mindset or behavioural strategies discussed to push through them

apply one new tip or habit shared by the panellists to begin taking bold, self-directed steps toward their definition of success within one month
About our speakers
Sandra Lewin
Sandra is the founder of 100 Women in Insurance, a podcast and platform showcasing the stories, careers, and insights of women across the insurance industry. With over 15 years of experience and a mission to challenge the myth that there aren’t enough women in the talent pool, Sandra also created The Pink Book to spotlight female talent. She’s a passionate speaker on gender equality, career growth, and endometriosis, and has reached over 14,000 podcast downloads and 8,000 followers across social media.
Darren Pollard
As managing director of Quality Care Group, Darren has over 25 years' insurance experience, over 20 years in the Care Industry. His expert knowledge of the Care Sector has placed QCG as one of the UK’s leading Care Home Insurance Brokers. Darren is also founder of our Charitable arm, Pollard's Promises. Darren is a very keen tennis player, an avid football fan and enjoys watching his three children playing tennis, football and cricket.
Sarah Cox
Sarah joined the insurance industry 38 years ago and has predominately worked in claims management roles. She joined The Benefact Group in 2011 managing major and complex property damage claims, winning prominent customer care awards. As a consequence of her success, Sarah was asked to lead the Ansvar team in 2019 where she is currently the Managing Director. Sarah is passionate about insurance and its role in society and has always positioned herself in companies where doing the right thing by customers is at the heart of the business. She is proud to be part of an organisation that strives for customer and reputational excellence.
Emily Whiting
Emily began working in insurance in 2008. Having worked in a variety of customer service, management and sales roles throughout the years. She completed her Cert CII qualification a few years ago and is now studying towards her Diploma in Insurance. She worked at QCG previously and is delighted to return, to work alongside Claims Manager Jade Concannon, with a strong focus on customer service excellence. Whilst insurance is her main career focus, she is also a qualified primary school teacher and she has completed a Law Degree with the Open University. Outside of work you will find her balancing exercise and a social life, whilst looking after her two children!
Getting there
There are some free 4 hour and 2 hour bays directly outside the office. Free parking is also available in Saxon Road nearby, however this only applies up to 7.00 pm as restrictions apply between 7.00 pm and 8.00 pm.
The office is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from Portslade Train Station.
A bus stop nearby is served by regular bus services to and from Worthing and Brighton.
