The United Kingdom has seen a 20-fold increase in adults being diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

ADHD is recognised under the Equality Act 2010 and workplaces are required to support those with ADHD.

This webinar will provide an overview of ADHD, how workplaces can recognise and support those with ADHD and move towards embracing and harnessing a neuro-diverse workforce.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the webinar you will be able to:

* understand what ADHD is and dispel some of the common myths

* review the legal and statutory frameworks relevant to ADHD which underpin recruitment, adjustments and HR processes

* recognise the impact ADHD may have for some people on workplace practices and demands

* identify workplace specific adjustments which can support those with ADHD

* understand how adjustments can actively improve workplace outcomes for those with ADHD and subsequently your organisation

* critique current examples of best practice in the workplace for those with ADHD nationally and internationally

About our Speaker
Laura Woods is a Consultant Mental Health Nurse and Responsible Clinician with 20 years’ experience working in Acute, Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs), prisons and secure and forensic health care.

After nearly nine years working in PICU, Laura managed a healthcare service within the prison estate. During this time, she gained a MSc in Clinical Forensic Psychiatry.

Laura gained a PGCert in Mental Health Law in 2020 and subsequently became an Approved Clinician in 2022.

As an Independent Prescriber, Laura developed an interest in the treatment for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and began to work privately with those with ADHD in 2022.

Alongside her busy NHS Consultant work, Laura has written a book due for publication, on supporting and harnessing ADHD in the workplace.

She remains passionate about mental health, supporting those with neurodiversity and she enjoys teaching at two universities nationally. She consults nationally on a range of practice and clinical issues and remains committed to developing and supporting innovation in healthcare.
