The Insurance Institute of Sussex is continuing its occasional series of technical seminars by Ed Gooda, with two talks on Liability Insurance in early 2020.

In this second of two seminars, Ed will focus on both the operation and intention of liability policies as he looks at product, public and employers' liability in more detail.

The session is designed for insurers, brokers and MGAs who are seeking to develop their basic knowledge and understanding of liability underwriting and claims in the UK to an intermediate level. It is suitable both as a standalone session and also as a follow-on to the Introductory seminar

Learning Objectives

By the end of the seminar, delegates will understand:

  • the intention and meaning of public liability policy wordings

  • the common policy coverage issues attaching to public liability claims

  • the intention and meaning of product liability policy wordings

  • the common policy coverage issues attaching to product liability claims

  • the intention and meaning of employers’ liability policy wordings

  • the common policy coverage issues attaching to employers’ liability claims

About our speaker

Ed is the Managing Director of both Fenchurch Park Limited, a consultancy practice, and Fenchurch Training Limited, a bespoke training firm in the Lloyd’s and London market. He has worked in the insurance industry since 1988 and held senior management roles for a number of composite insurers and reinsurers, a managed general agency, a Lloyd’s managing agency and a firm of chartered loss adjusters.

Ed consults into The Chartered Insurance Institute in London, The Institute of Risk Management, The Singapore College of Insurance and two distinguished lecturing organisations in the United Kingdom; Ed has been involved in industry training for over 20 years. Ed has extensive international underwriting and claims management experience in the Lloyd’s and London market.
