November 5th - webinar - Quick History of Insurance
The earliest glimpses of insurance date back into prehistory, but it really developed into a practice that we would recognise in the medieval period. Merchants from the Northern Italian states introduced the practice to cover their financial risk. The Great Fire of London saw the introduction of the fire insurance companies and fire brigades.
This webinar will take a quick tour through the history of insurance, looking at marine insurance, the coffee shops in London, life assurance and how it evolved into a global professional financial sector of its own.
Learning Objectives
- To gain an understanding and knowledge of insurance history.
