SEMINAR 26 February 2020

Can wellbeing really live up to the hype?

We welcome all members & guests to attend a lunch time seminar which will be presented by Nick Bloy from Wellbeing Republic.

Overview

In the last few years, wellbeing and mental health have become buzz words that feature heavily on the agendas of many corporate boards. But is it just another fad or is there something fundamental about wellbeing that has the power to radically transform the way we work and live?

In the presentation, Nick will look at the link between wellbeing and performance and what it means both from an organisational perspective but also what it means for you, as an individual, thinking about your own wellbeing and its impact on your work and personal life.

Learning Objectives

By attending this event, delegates will be able to identify:

  • What wellbeing is and why it is important (with specific reference to the insurance industry)
  • The impact that poor wellbeing has on the workplace (beyond sickness absence etc)
  • What organisations can do to bolster the wellbeing of employees
  • What you can do to bolster your own wellbeing

About the speaker

Nick is a certified coach, former lawyer and HR Business Partner with a MSci in Chemistry from King’s College London and a Professional certificate in the Science of Happiness at Work from the University of California Berkeley. He founded Wellbeing Republic (www.wellbeingrepublic.com) in 2016, a consultancy that specialises exclusively in wellbeing and peak performance to help shift the conversation from ill-being to well-being. He is passionate about helping people to thrive and believes that the key to thriving resides in helping people understand the science that underpins wellbeing, including our evolutionary biology and the neuroscience of the brain. Nick works as a coach, trainer and keynote speaker, with organisations large and small to help individuals and the organisations that they work for to thrive.

It will be held at the Hambledon Suite at The Ageas Bowl on 26 February 2020

from 12.15pm until 1.45pm. Tea, coffee, pastries and hot sausage rolls will be available.
