President's Message

Welcome to the Insurance Institute of Royal Tunbridge Wells. 

It is a privilege to have been honored with the role of president for the coming year.

As an insurance professional who has been working in insurance since 1988, I am a more recently qualified CII member. I made the decision to qualify as I believe professionalism is led by knowledge and the CII provides great learning opportunities with the local institutes providing further support through a program of CPD, networking and charitable events that help builds us as individuals.

My experience spans a mixture of roles in the general insurance broker market with a brief spell being the man from the Prudential. Over time I have moved away from customer facing roles to the support functions that make a business tick. The various businesses I have been part of have a common thread; their success was based on the professionalism of their team. I have helped develop my teams by ensuring training and development is high on the agenda and which the CII and local institute can support. 

Pierre has concentrated his Presidency on making our institute a closer and stronger team and created more engagement opportunities as we exit COVID. The “What Else?” that Pierre talked about last year, will be to build on last year’s approach.

Our institute has a wide variety of insurance professionals within its midst - we need to encourage engagement to enable us to uncover how we need to develop as professionals. 

To this end we would will be inviting you to help us shape your local institute by helping us to understand your needs so that we can create a more inclusive, visible and relevant local institute for CII and PFS members who live and or work in the Tunbridge Wells area.
