Happy Retirement to a Valuable Council Member!

HAPPY RETIREMENT!
For those who attended our annual dinner in March, you would have heard from our then President, Rachel Karn CMgr MCMI Cert CII on how Paul Swanton has been an invaluable member of our Council for over 30 years. He has now decided to retire from Council to spend more time with his family.
Paul was encouraged to join council in 1994 when he became the representative of the Society of Technicians in Insurance (those that had studied for their MSTI - a bit of a forerunner to the DipCII and one stage before ACII).
When that qualification evolved he took over the charities role from Dick Richardson who retired having had that role for several years. Paul's job was to connect the Insurance Charities with those that had applied for help locally and that would include a personal visit to carry out an informal assessment on behalf of the IC. He also called in annually to local retired recipients to see how they were doing (and hand over a hamper). Thus, having charity collection envelopes at all our dinners and events became the norm and Paul has been assiduous in making us all aware as to their role and how they can help those employed in insurance and their families.
His calmness and thoroughness worked incredibly well and he will be sadly missed but we thank him very much for his 30+ years of service and wish him well in his retirement.
Happy Retirement Paul from all of us!
