Our history
The Jersey Insurance Institute is the most southerly Insurance Institute in the British Isles, located 90 miles of the south coast of England and approximately 14 miles from the French coast. The Jersey Institute began in 1967 having previously been a local committee of the Southampton Institute since 1958 and has approximately 300 members.
Although fiercely loyal to the Britain, Jersey is a crown dependency and not part of the United Kingdom. The population is approximately 100,000 and is only nine miles by five.
Despite Jersey's size, it is a major international offshore financial centre holding deposits worth billions of pounds sterling.
