Online event
Thursday, 08 October 2020
1:00 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Robin Wilkinson, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, Casualty Analytics, AIR Worldwide

This webinar was the second in a series of joint catastrophe modelling webinars between the Insurance Institute of London and AIR Worldwide (a Verisk business), aimed at improving members understanding of developments in extreme event modelling and risk evaluation in today’s insurance world. In this webinar, Robin Wilkinson, presented a casualty catastrophe modelling framework and discussed the role of casualty cat models in the (re)insurance marketplace.

Catastrophe models calculate important metrics used in the evaluation of risk and are of particular relevance in today’s world of pandemics, natural hazards and casualty risk. Dissecting the key data inputs/outputs and their interpretation is crucial for informed decision-making in the world of insurance in 2020.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • Why is casualty catastrophe modelling needed?
  • What does casualty catastrophe modelling involve?
  • What questions do casualty catastrophe models try to answer?
