Gross Profit - are we still all getting it wrong?

The Old Library, Lloyd's
Wednesday, 24 May 2017
1:15 pm – 2:00 pm (UK time)
    • Damian Glynn, Director, Head of Financial Risks, Vericlaim UK
    • Steven Nock, M&CL Director, Head of CFAS, Crawford & Co.

In this IIL joint property/LBIA lecture Damian and Steven presented the results of the latest (fourth) CILA survey with regards to the adequacy of BI cover, and refreshed relevant recommendations in the BI report published by CILA/IIL/CII in October 2012.

Whilst the BI 2012 report provided recommendations to address ongoing problems, the degree to which wordings have changed has been limited. This lecture looked at the problems caused by the difference definitions of Gross Profits and purchases.

By the end of this lecture members:

  • Will be in possession of the summarized points from the most recent BI survey
  • Be re-energised to revisit the 2012 BI report
