Wednesday, 15 April 2020
11:00 am – 12:00 pm (UK time)
    • Alan Chandler ACII, Chartered Insurer, Alan Chandler Training

Repeat session due to high demand!

In this webinar Alan Chandler ACII, one of the most popular insurance speakers in the UK, provided a simple to understand presentation on what so many policyholders are asking right now; does my BI policy cover COVID-19?

The UK Government said that by declaring COVID-19 a notifiable disease, it would trigger Business Interruption (BI) policies so that they will cover any losses - we will explore whether this statement is correct.

It is essential that brokers, underwriters and claims staff alike have a full understanding of what the correct commercial insurance position is on the virus that is disrupting our lives. It is not just policyholders who are asking this question, we all know friends and family who run small businesses and they will be asking anyone working in insurance what the position is, and why. This presentation will give you the answers.

Alan briefly explored the background of BI cover in the UK and focus specifically on the BI extensions that may or may not cover COVID-19. The presentation will given in clear and simple terms, leaving you feeling confident talking about how BI cover responds to the biggest issue of the day.

This will be a webinar presentation lasting 40 minutes with an additional 20 minutes Q&A. Once registered, you will be sent a link to access the webinar at the specified time. Questions can be submitted following the presentation.

By the end of this webinar members would have gained an insight into:

  • The background to disease cover under Commercial Business Interruption policies
  • The various BI extensions that may or may not relate to COVID-19
  • Explanations to policyholders on whether their policy does or does not cover BI losses relating to COVID-19
